Focus on quality quiz content

That's it! I have had it! Trying hard tobe everywhere, creating everything myself - it is just not possible. So I have decided kneel and beg for help - yes, it's right, lost my dignity and decided to focus on the content and getting help to do it. Havent't got any regrets so far.

It is important to me, that visitors to my site does in fact get the chance of finding some quality quiz and trivia content, that they either can use or just find interesting and fun.

I have just released a section with reviews on quiz and trivia resources such as books, movies and games. Nice little section with integration with Amazon.com. Go check it out.

Next thing to do will probably be focus on the quiz community / quiz forum.

I need more quiz articles and quizzes

I have been busy working the last couple of weeks, so I haven't had the time it takes to develop the websites (heh heh, that's pluralis now) - but I guess it's time to get started again.
I wrote one article last week, but now I realize, that I have to get more help in writing quiz articles and writing quizzes and quiz questions as well. Especially in the music quiz and sports quiz areas I need help, since I don't have any quizzes on these topics yet.
I tried to sign up to a copywriter site to get help from a professional copywriter - I am now 10 USD down with no articles - it probably was a fake site or a scam, so no help from there.
Well, it's weekend now, and I feel in the mood for writing an article or two - I might try to ask a friend to write a music quiz;-)

Quiz link directory and submission - newly added

Time to report on my struggle for kicking and keeping my quiz community alive.

There are a lot of obstacles and enimies out there. I find my self in a multi-functional role, trying to develop 1st-quiz.com. This week I have experienced a user creation feature, that failed - one of my collegues told me. No wonder there has been so quiet on the user registration page. I spend a lot of time to fix this without spoiling the search engine friendly URL's. Whoops; new knowledge to me. It's not enough to have a fantastic site up and running; the URLs has to say something about the topic on the page - mostly to please the search engines, and thereby surfers.

I have also surfed the net to find good places to place and ask for incoming links. That wasn't easy. I decided, that there must be others like my self, so I created a quiz and trivia directory on Quizindex.com. I will try to make this the ultimate overview of online quiz and trivia resources. Just one problem though... I now have to maintain to websites;-)

Where are all the quiz fans?

1st-Quiz.com has been online for a few months now. I have now learned that I have to make friends to have some peers visit the site. A lot of friends!

Some of my friends told me, that the most important friend I could have, was Google. Well I guess I knew that in some way - but I didn't quite realize how difficult it would be to have some users use the quiz community. So I have now started making friends.

I have read what is the most common knowledge on how to optimize a website, so that my search engine friends also understand what the site is all about. I found that i made some very stupid mistakes in the way I published my pages. I have now started to fix that.

Also; I have now started to make some online friends on blogs and other fora. That is fun and giving - on a human level i mean:-)

Let you know, when my network of friends hit the site in a notice worthy maner.

A new quiz site? Why on earth...??

This was the question i got from a lot of my friends, when I first mentioned the idea. Well, I'll tell you - here is the story.

I have always been very enthusiastic about quizzes and trivia, IRL and online, board games and party games, competitions in papers and magazines - you name it, i've been there.

I started to look on the internet last year, to see if I could find a high quality quiz site of my taste, with good quality quizzes, trivia and resources. I didn't find any at that time. There was a lot of trivia on Funtrivia - very good ones too, but I found it to be totally massive and very overwhelming. I figured that there would be more people like my self, so...

I decided to create my own site then. Since CMS-systems was common and easy to use, I thought it would be a challenge that could be handled. Needed some help on the template though, but 2 weeks, and 1st-Quiz.com was up and running late february 2008.

The goal with 1st-Quiz is to create a community of quizniacs, who will share and participate. The site must have articles, links and quizzes of high quality to suit all of our quiz topic needs.

I am now happy with the way the site looks, so I started waiting for users to come in thousands... You may follow my struggle to make 1st-Quiz visible on the internet - to find all my peers - I invite you, welcome.
